A gorgeous piano room of one's own

The only [fashion editorials] for me are the mad ones...like this one from Miles Aldridge in this month's Vogue Italia. It's reminiscent of more or less everything I read senior year in college (side note: was everything by women in the 19th/early 20th century about suffocating within one's social circumstances??). This genre is ripe for illustration, as in this choice Edith Wharton line: "She was so evidently the victim of the civilization which had produced her that the links of her bracelet seemed like manacles chaining her to her fate." Manacles chaining her to her fate!

Anyway, if I've learned anything, it's that a woman always looks her loveliest right before plunging herself into the briny abyss.
